Explanation of this 1939 EK2 ribbon bar (Rick, Daniel?)

    Hallo Daniel and Rick,

what would you think is the story behind this EK and long service award. What long service award do you think it might be for? Someone with a 4 year long service award before say 1935, then later in thw war won the 1939 EK 2?

    Full range of possibilities:

    1) Unused dealer stock, awaiting wearer to purchase it from stock with the style device of his choice. Or

    2) Police 8; RAD 4, or 12; Waffen SS career/Totenkopf 4, or 8--

any of those are possible and I'd think Option 2) is far more likely and this was worn by one of these non-Wehrmacht types.

      Hi Erich,

I also vote for Ricks No.2.

      Police/RAD/SS

      Beste Grüße

Following a wee bit o' nudging from Rick, I'm going to throw pictures of a couple of my [annoyingly vague] plain blue ribbons into the discussion:

Rick: ...the latter is one of the shiny tab-backed ones

          Schöööön!

1st one is IMO either a Prussian Landwehr 2nd class or enlisted Long service award. RAD would be possible but unlikely. I do not believe it is a Police 8 or SS.

2nd one is really nice! (I´m not jealous, nooo
I vote here for a Prussian Landwehr 1st class. I do not think it is anything 3rd reich related possible here.

          Best regards

          Daniel

A couple of months back, when I heard some murmurs that Rick Versailles was selling off some of his white-black EK collection, I just had to do my civic duty and help him get rid of them...

            Thanks for the analysis, BTW.
