    Ohio Monsters for Rick

I cannot help but posting these two monsters for Rick's personal pleasure. I need some identification: 4th from the left has a Wound badge on top. Is that good

Squished Marshmallow Easter Chick Spangen! PAINTED NSDAP devices!!!!

      I just...

      ...ate supper....

Actually, aside from the moronic combinations and idiotic mismounting, those cute little enamelled Austrian devices are original and worth something.

      But ohh,

      Da horruh! Ohhhhhhhh! Da horrruhhhhhh!!!!

      People CONTINUE buying these!!!!

But Rick, you didn't answer my question...

And yes, I was young and eager to have colorfull things on the wall and I bought those decades ago. Was told the devices are reaL, the combination is made up.....

So are you telling me to rip those apart and sell in pieces????

The first ek 2 spange device looks like one of those "squished marshmallow chicks" birdies, as aptly described by Rick in previous posts.

I would like to know about the gold NSDAP device..is it painted can you tell?

Accidentally offending people on the internet since 1997

Those would look EXCELLENT on any old Gefreiter tunic!

OK, I've rinsed. I think I'm OK... now.

Eight reasons I don't even NEED to look at the backs (ready? "Magic powers" on display!! )--

            1) Hideous squished marshmallow Easter Chick fake Spangen. See The Ribbon Bar Article on this website for x500% views.

            2) This is actually the "Kleindekoration" for a 1st Class Austro-Hungarian Military Merit Cross-- only worn by GENERALS. That's right... but World War ONE Generals! If one was to even fantasize about such an impossibility (the only generals under age 39, as this combination "tells" us would be former Royal Princes. Uh huh.)... it should have been next to the Iron Crown Order--ahead of the Hindenburg Cross.

            3) The ribbon is the 1918 Karl Wound Medal-- ONLY given to Austro-Hungarians. This is NOT an Aust-Hung officer's ribbon bar!!! This is the device for a lapel bow, crossed swords for a Hindenburg Cross with tiny 1918 black Wound Badge.

            8) These eagles are probably painted gold. Hard to tell, which is why I left them for last. ALL this fraudster's bars use THIS style eagles, in a weird "off" gray color. The detail is fantastic. The finish sucks.

            4) What dah...!!!??? NO SUCH DEVICE on this ribbon. Period. This is an Italian crown device, almost certainly yet another original silver that this butcher has PAINTED gold.

            5) 1st generation cast SS fake runes. See The Ribbon Bar Article for x500%. And of course these were never won in pairs--one replacing the other.

            6) PAINTED NS devices. Particularly noticable on the gold one. Schlock over ruined original 15 devices is an Ohio trademark!

            7) This award for junior Austrian NCOs sometimes WAS made to German technical types. But this is a "post 1942" ribbon bar-- the 41/42 East Medal ribbon?-- so this should be up with the other WW1s ahead of the Hindenburg Cross.

            Blooooooooof!!!!

And yet, "Where Eagles Dare" fans with waaaay too much space between their brain cells spend literally hundreds of dollars on this CRAP. They can be found by the BOXFUL at any Big Show. They are on eCrap virtually every day. Many a "respected" dealer plops 'em out for the rubes because HIS "reputation" isn't built OR maintained based on Careful Attention To "Minor" Details.

Don't buy these kind of frauds, people! It makes Ricky

                All That Glitters Isn't Gold

I know one fellow who makes these up and has been selling them for years. A lot of collectors dress up uniforms with these fake bars, reinactors buy them, and dealers buy them by the hand full to sell to the suckers of the world. Knowledge is the only thing that can prevent one from buying them as original once they leave the hands of the manufacturer.

No! No! Dietrich, Nooooo!!!! make him STOPPPPPP!!!!!!

                    <marquee behavior> Aaiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!! </marquee>

Ain't "Situational Ethics" convenient? Mass produce more schlock than--literally--worn by entire Wehrmacht divisions... ruin vast quantities of original repair materials... rip off the gullible and under-informed alllllll ovvvvver the PLANET for well into a second decade...

and it's the BUYERS' fault, not the SELLER's!!!!

I'm sure Columbian narcotraffickers would agree, but it doesn't impress me much as a feeble self-excusing cop-out!

... so I gather from your reluctant statement that you don't like those either?

But they are so colorfull and looong - must be good!
