That's one of the finest examples I've ever seen, but as has been stated the packet is out of place. That in NO WAY takes away from the authenticity, quality or beauty of the NICE Ost medal!

Thanks Mike. After having thought a lot on that point (lol), I guess a right packet has to have "Rudolf Berge - Gablonz" written on the back ?

Here is one type of fake Ostmedaille that I have seen. Not too bad from the front or back ...

... but it was made from the wrong material (some sort of white metal) ...

... and it was too small (here between two good ones). I didn't have my tools with me to measure, nor my blacklight to look at the ribbon.

Also, note how weakly struck the fake one is compared to the originals. ESPECIALLY compared to the stunning example at the start of this thread!

It's the first time I see these reproductions, it's a great info. If they are the best ones that a collector can find today, I think I will not waste your time again for an expertise on an Ostfront ! (which is a good thing after all).
But I'm afraid this will not be the case for long : many years ago, EKs were already faked in a much better way when the originals didn't cost what an Ostfront costs today.
