    Luftwaffe Salver of Honour

    Dear Members,
    yesterday I bought a Luftwaffe Salver of Honour from Oberst Willi Westphal awarded 29.9.1944.
    Does anybody can provid me with informations over this man "Oberst Willi Westphal".
    The only thing I know over him is that he was the commander of a Luftwaffen Jäger Regiment.

    Not very much, but I found this (that you probably already know):

    Luftwaffen-Jäger-Regiment 25

    Kommandeure:

    Oberst Willi Westphal, 12.42 - 3.43
    Maj Werner Fabig, 29.3.43 - 7.43
    Oberst Willi Westphal, 29.7.43 - 11.43
    Formed 15.11.42 at Fallingbostel from parts of Flieger-Regiment 13. On 1.11.43 taken over by the Army as Jäger-Regiment 25 (L).

    Organisation:

    I. 1-4, II. 5-8, III. 9-12

        The Luftwaffenrangliste 1945 lists a Oberst Willy Westphal as born on 1.Oct.1885 with promotion to Oberst effective 1.Jan.1942.
        K. Mehner lists a Oberst Willy Westphal as being present in Luftflotte 1 area (im Dienstbereich) on 17.Apr. 1943 without more detailed information.
        No higher awards i.e. D.K.i.G. and higher are listed.
