    My current ribbon bar collection

    Hello again,

I would just like you to view these photos and tell me what you think as well.....does anybody dislike the SS eight place ribbon bar? I was told by the antique shop owner that a Vet. brought back two of these. I bought this one as the other one was for a political man and pricey.....but either way they BOTH had the miniature medals which you don't see too often. Please let me know either way. Thank you.

    William Kramer

P.S. What kind of careers did these men have just by looking at the ribbons?

The first bar is quite nice, for either a Wehrmacht (E) officer or a former Imperial NCO (in this case, can't tell if the Wehrmacht 12 and 4 are FOR 12 years active duty, WW1 and then 1930s--in which case most likely a WW2 Oberstleutnant, or a WW2 replacement of an Imperial XII years service medal--in which case a WW2 Feldwebel/Oberfeldwebel). The 1919 Baltic Cross ribbon should be AFTER the Wehrmacht ribbons, since it was NOT a German award, but so many Germans mistakenly thought that it WAS, it has been placed in the spot which would be correct... if it was Silesian Eagle. This is a typical original period mistake and quite common.

I don't care for the Yugoslav-style RIBBON BAR with dangling minis AT ALL. It looks to me like somebody has simply mucked up an original ribbon bar "Where Eagles Dare" Hollywood-izing it. I have never seen this alien sort of wear for German awards. Lapel bows with minis, sure. Even miniature medal bars (far less commonly-- search both in the Imperial Forum).

The dingy second ribbon bar seems OK at first glance, though wildly out of correct precedence, for an elderly police (assuming the first device is not an "enhancement" like the dangling minis) official, former career NCO or PO retired before WW1 from the military and not recalled for military service 1914-18.

BUT!!!!!! -------> What the heck is a Hungarian WW1 Commemorative Medal doing on there, post 1939 (Memel Medal) with NO HINDENBURG CROSS? That can NOT be, for this time period. (Plenty of 1928-35 groups had the Hungarian medal BEFORE the Hindenburg Cross was created and widely awarded.) At best, this is a parts bar that has been "grunged down" in an attempt to disguise an impossoble combination in completely wrong precedence order.

Can't see the minis themselves clearly enough to comment on them-- all but the SS medal are fairly common.

There was NO form of dress that such a monstrosity could have been worn on, in German uniform regulations, in any case--and this certainly wouldn't fit on any civilian suit lapel either. Aside from the impossible combination!

        Well, isn't that "special"...

Ask-- and then ignore (completely, might I say you're ever so welcome, please, please the lavish thanks... no, no, really! ). the expert evaluation.

Ask-- and simply just fishing for free resale free value added.

And we ALL love shielded bidders. THAT'S always a good sign, isn't it?

Congratulations! I will no longer reply to ANY "newbie" "questions" regarding ANYTHING. Yes, the barrel IS spoiled by just one. After another, after another, after another.

Rick, consider this another *sshole that has been ferreted out from amongst the pack that few, if any, assoiation members will ever reply to. If his behavior becomes too objectionable, I am sure he will be reprimanded and even suspended at which point in time we may all learn his true identity to allow us all to avoid contact with him in the future. Apparently all he knows is not very much, especially when it comes to common courtesy.

He has done the same with a fake antipartisan badge.

After being told it is FAKE he puts it on ebay.

Even has the nerve to use (or is it misuse) association members names.
He should be banned. once was bad judgment, twice is a history.

Don, I whole heartedly agree. This person is discovering he has fakes and then tries to pass them on to unsuspecting buyers. It is a total lack of morals and ethics and banning would be the gentlest thing I could recommend. This person is nothing short of a thief and should be flogged, hung, burned, run over and then punished.

If you follow his profile, you'll see he has a website: it gives his name (supposedly); has an items for sale section too, but its empty.

                            People like this

What makes things so bad is that with a clear conscience, he goes out of his way to steal money from people like me and you. I don't know about all of you, but 20.00 is a lot of money!!! Before finding this site, I was thinking about quiting the hobby of WW2 collecting all together because of jerks like this!!!
