opinion on this 18 year service medal

can anyone advise me if this is an original late war zinc 18 year service medal,i dont like it as the detail to the eagle does not seem right (eg wing feathers breast and feet) and the reverse 18 does not look right (eg the number 1 )

Going off those pics looks ok to me, colour wear, stibling etc. To my knowledge there were too different types of quality on these awards some quite poor in design of eagle etcAll the best

Meant to say a front on shot of the eagle may help. Also some of the fakes can be easily marked with your finger nail or bend even, but dont try to hard

does look a bit different to what you normally see, but i had a pair of police long service crosses where the eagles looked like pidgeons! and they were genuine

i agree it does look a bit different the detail to the eagle is just not there any other opinions welcome.

Well the eagle is a bit mis shaped but the thick ring i like that mine 25 years croos got a thick ring as well here look at mine 25 years award

I say it's a good one in a bad shape i should not pay much for it

yes i agree with eraser, its not the best example, but i dont think theres anything wrong with it! heres a couple of pics of mine..18y1.jpg
