First FAKE Ost Medal??

I have about 12 of these Ost medals and I just received this one today from purchasing it on e-Stand. I notice the details are kind of weak, no mm# marking on the ring. The most noticable thing of this medal is it's VERY thick, about as twice as the regular Ost medals that I have... What do you think? Fake or rarity? Please give your opinions so I can decide what to do with it. Thank you all!

Hi In my opinion this looks like a good heavily worn original Ost, they do tend to vary in thickness somemakers being alot thicker than others. The detail does appear to be lacking in areas but I am not sure if that is down to the finish lifting away from the metal. The fakes I have seen of these are noticable in the colour. I have to say the ring however does look replaced unless its the pic or the angle of the shot. All the best

It dosent teaze my taste, havey paint on the badge aswell ....hmm
the ring is a modern typ so i dont like it ,but u never know...and i havent seeing that type and i have 40 different makers

I don't think that is the original paint.

I think the medal it self is ok but was painted at some stage and the ring looks like its been replaced

I too think the it was repainted with a thick layer of paint, therefore, some of the details were covered. Since more members think it's OK and this type is not around that often, I'll keep it and try to strip the paint to see how it turn out

It's a mess and been messed with, but original.

its an original medal, but as has been said already, it looks like its been repainted and then someone tried to 'age' it with a blowtorch .... the ring is also not original ,... there have been several fakes of the Ostmedaille around for some time ... this has also been discussed on this forum previously ... a quick search and you should be able to find the old threads ..
