Swastika badge on Heer soldier (?)

The taller soldier (far right) appears to be wearing a golden party badge, what's the larger badge below it?

It's the Allgemeines Gau-Ehrenzeichen (General Gau Honor Badge) for 1923 or 1925. This was an award shared by several of the older Gaue.

Interesting photo, not only for the unusual awards pointed out above, but the soldier in the center of the line-up seems to be wearing a tunic with no exterior pockets, and the (assumed) adjutant is still wearing a cross-strap, which was long out of vogue by the Aug '41 date of the photo.

The pocketless tunic appears to be the reed-green drill jacket introduced in 1940. NCOs and Officers usually wore it with shoulder boards and breast eagle; NCOs often added their collar braiding as well.

As for the apparent cross-strap, I actually think this is just the usual "Y"-harness.

I didn't think the gau badge was that big. Interesting mix of uniforms.
