      I'm glad I wasn't the first to say it.

      Did you get this at the same place you got that bad SS cap eagle? Take them back for a refund if you can.

            Thanks for catching that one. I agree, the last edelweiss looks pretty bad. I can't believe that I fell for one like that. To be quite honest, I purchased it for only 15 bucks. Not too big of a loss.
            That Edelweiss is a post war copy. Thanks for calling me on it.

            That was the first Edelweiss I had ever purchased back in the 90's.

            I have gotten smarter. Not by much, but a little smarter.

                well its not a copy per say! it was used by the Austrian and German forces after the war and is still being used today!

                  If you search this forum, you should find an old post or two that discusses the five holes/straight stem on original issue and anything else is considered not WWII issue; for future reference.

                  I still think that center flower design is pretty cool looking! I wouldn't mind finding one in mintier condition for one of my hats. Anybody know where I might get one fairly cheap?

                      This one has cloth backing. I can't check to see if it's maker marked. I like this piece very much.
