13th March medal

Has anyone distinguished between the different makers of this medal. There is a nice group on the estand at the moment with a March medal that has a distinctive gray specle effect on it. I have a couple of these with the same effect and it only seems to occur on the narrow border medals..who is this maker ??

Hi Rich I think it would be almost impossible to link these awards to a specific maker. There are however I agree different styles around colouration to the awards. All the best

Yes..a lowly award and in most cases unmarked. Just thought someone may have done a study on the medal types found with provenance in maker marked cases ?
The S&L catalogue describes these as being in 'mattsilber getont', does this mean artificially toned, which may point to the grey speckling effect on some of my march medals ?
