7 piece medal bar with italian valore medal

    Hello gentlemen,
is there anybody with a german medalbar that includes a italian "al valore militare" medal ? I´d love to see some more for comparison.

My medal is without the engraving of the recipient and without a marker mark like the official italian medals.

    regards
    Harry

          Beautiful Bar, but an observation.

It almost appears that the Italian medal may have been added later, wit that medal originally being a Heer LS. it looks as though there is a hole in the ribbon where the eagle device whould have been.

Does the color & size of the thread holding the Italian medal match the thread used on the other medals?

          Just cuious.
          Regards,
          Chris

On second thought the presidence would be incorrect with the placement of the Czech medal.

Maybe I'm just loosing my mind....

                Hello Chris and Steinar,

                thanks for comment.

Chris, you were not alone with that thought, but as you noticed, a Heer Service medal would be on the wrong place.

The blue ribbon is only napped like the ribbon of the Chech medal, there is no hole in the ribbon. The thread fits perfect to the other medals.

To bad, looks like there is no one with a Italian medals for camparing ?

                  Hmmmm- just saw this thread.
You're dead right about the LS medal placement, but if it was a state LS medal or an RAD medal, then it'd make sense. The RAD devices weren't around very long though.
That's a "real" Italian bravery medal, but it's very odd it's unnamed and I'm very, very, very suspiscious of German bars with foreign awards on them, especially without LS medals. There have been LOADs of fake bars made with the foreign "teaser/attractor" medals on them.

                    Hi !

It's the NORMAL way, that Italian bravery medals - given to Germans - were unnamed. A German-named medal is very rare !

                    Regards,

                    Peter

                      Really?

I would welcome more information on Italian awards to germans here. Can you give cites at all? Any known groups? How common was this version the bravery medal?

                        Hi !

I'n not a specialist for Italian awards given to German soldiers (except the Italian-German africa-medal), but I've seen a handful of groupings with bronze or silver Italian bravery-medals over the years which didn't come from sellers.
Only one of them was engraved, the others (about 3 or 4) were not.

I own a grouping of the last Ib-officer of "Fallschirm-Panzer-Grenadier-Division HG 2" (a former member of a flak-unit in Africa) who was awarded the Italien bravery medal in silver. It also is not engraved.

So I can say for sure, that an ungraved Italian bravery medal on a bar doesn't mean that this medal-bar is not original.

                        Regards,

                        Peter

                          Hello McCulloh and Peter,
thanks for comments. All medals on this bar are fixed with the same thread, and they are well fixed, I don´t think that this is not wartime or one of them are exchanged.

McCulloh I don´t understand your comment:

RAD, state LS or police LS are on the same order than WH LS ("Allgemeine Durchsführungsverordnung zum Treuedienst-Ehrenzeichen und zu den Dienstauszeichungen" vom 30. Jannuar 1938, Reichsgesetzblatt)
