Four Year Service Medal Question

I have a four year service medal that looks good. It has an open ribbon ring that was not welded shut. It is very difficult to see due to the mounting. Do other people have four year service medals with open ribbon rings? Please advice.

Hello Carl,

In my opinion, split suspension rings are ok on Long Service Medals. They do not necessarily have to be soldered shut in order to be real.
