Dave, what's your criteria for spotting an Egana-made piece? I would have pegged Marcus' badge as an Egana piece with an added safety for the catch.

Here's my Egana piece (I assume it's Egana as it came in an Egana box)

Here is my 'al merito en campana' cross that I picked up last week. Instead of starting a new thread I'll jump on board this one. This cross has the makers name on the back and is cased. It has one thing different to those that I have seen. I will point it out when the photo comes up. Anyone with any idea as to when this may have been awarded?

        Regards,
        AB.

Here we see the Lions not in gold but in red with a gold border. I have not see this on any other cross. Mind you I haven't seen that many only those in this forum. Could it be only to this maker?

Last is the stamp on the inside top of the case. I can't make much of it. Casa Merino I think I can see.

                    Hi there,

                    Here are my two medals.

As you can see the one on the right is an Egeña, as Dave has mention the most commonly awarded to Legion Condor members, since it was the most renown maker for high quality badges in Spain, although there are other high quality badges from other manufacturers.

The other one is I believe from SCW period or pre 1940's. It is also very nice badge, although the details are not as refine as the egaña.

Andrew regarding your badge i would say it is from after the war, mid 40`s due to the 3 catch system on the back of your badge (but again i could be wrong). Regardting the castells maker mark, I have a medal from the same maker, mine is a red military service cross, I believe it was a jewler that made high quality badges. Find attached pictures.
I have also included an Egaña wound badge that was awarded to legion condor members so you can see the box, normally egaña use to produce carton boxes.

                    Regards,
                    Alejo

Here are a few other variations from my photo reference files.

This one with pins holding the front details together...
