    DRL Sports Badges - Opinions??

    Hi Guys,

Have 2 Sports badges, one in Bronze and one in Silver both maker marked

Any good? Feel free to comment

BTW - what is the significance in the different materials - Is gold a higher achievement?

    Hi,

yes, Gold is a higher achievement, but you show here Bronze and Silver.

In the class Gold the badge must be gilt.

    Uwe

I think that the silver one could be a bronze one but polished?

Really, who would bother to go to such detail to polish it??

I can see some bronzing/staining in the finish but i doubt it would have been polished. Then again I'm no expert

I think polishing a bronze badge would result in a brightly polished bronze/tombac badge. Polishing a silver badge to excess would probably give you the same result.

i don´t think that it was polished, it´s a silver good one. take a look to the hinge and catch, there are no rest of bronce finish if it was polished.

It seems to have some bronze rests, like if it was shined

                      Hi,

                      Scott:

"I think polishing a bronze badge would result in a brightly polished bronze/tombac badge. Polishing a silver badge to excess would probably give you the same result."

That is correct, the same result, because the badges in class Silver and Gold ar silvered and gilded non-ferrous metal pieces.
An extreme polished Bronze, Silver or Gold badge could be more golden and brighter than a real gilded Gold badge!

It is defintitely a silver badge.

                      Regards
                      Uwe
