Ribbon Bar Question

Hi,
I apologise if this has been asked before but if a soldier had the EKII / KvK etc ribbon sewn into the button hole on their tunic would they still have the appropriate ribbon showing on their ribbon bar when worn on that tunic?

I think the regulations specified you can only wear certain ribbons in the button hole OR on a ribbon bar. However, period photos show this was occasionally overlooked and troops wore them both ways simultaniously.
