    2 ribbon bars for review

    Hello,

Would appreciate some feedback on the following ribbon bars please.

The top one was acquired from The Collectors Guild. I thought it was good, but the EK ribbon doesn't seem to be the same dimensions as others I've seen.

The bottom bar was acquired from the infamous "Third Reich Depot" 2 years ago before I knew any better.

    (Yet again, thank you WAF!!!)

      Hi

They look fine to me. Have you check them with the blacklight?

Rob, you beat me to the one on collectors guild!! A lot of people seem to have issues with the third reich depot. I am a person who always says look at the item and not the dealer. But both look to be fine examples, would like the one with the italian/afrika ribbon. Matt

I get paranoid with these things. The 4-place bar seems to have age on the pin, catch, and back plate, but the ribbons look quite well preserved; is it the photo? (I believe the Africa and the Czech Occupation ribbons are placed in reverse order).

They are in the wrong order as Scott said, and I might add that IMHO the KVK should also have some swords on it as well.

They are out of order, but i have seen them in the wrong order before. Both the afrika and the occupation medal are low ranking medals. Matt

The Afrika medal counts as a foreign award and should come last, no question.

                    Afrikasandman,

Well, since you are a fellow BAMF, I can make you a deal.

I am currently looking for a nice mm GAB, perhaps you have one you'd be willing to trade for the ribbon bar you want (cost me $72 from CG) and a couple dollars?

I bought it because I haven't come across too many bar withs the afrika medal on it, but I no longer desire to own this one, even if it is legit, it doesn't give me the "warm and fuzzy".

                      Scott,

Thanks for the input, your observations are correct.

Sigh, that is the second now questionable item I've acquired from The Collectors Guild in the past 3 months...

I really need to stop going "Oh, its this guy or this guy, they have a really solid reputation. I trust them so much that I don't scrutinize the item as much as I should".

                        Al,

I was thinking the same thing about the KVK.

Ribbon bars can be quirky. Period photos have proven odd ribbon combinations in the wrong order were indeed made and worn. It comes down to what you're comfortable with having in your collection. No dealer is beyond making errors - it happens to the best of them. The true test of a dealer is how they handle returns/refunds...

Hey everyone, look at page 18 of the medal bar thread, there is a medal bar that is mounted with the dak medal coming before the occupation medal. Again i don't have a problem with the placement, though i do think the kvk needs the swords. Matt
