Oberst Schmidt - 7 Place Medal Bar

    Hi,

Attached is a nice medal bar attributed to Oberst Schmidt. The dagger is an ivory gripped Eickhorn on top of its zippered wool bag.

      Dear Don,

I wish I knew more of Oberst Schmidt. The bar comes on the original tailor card stock with Oberst Schmidt's name on the reverse of the card. Unfortunately with a common name like Schmidt it is difficult to find out anything more about him. Too bad he did not have a more unique mane so I could research him.

          Dear Dad,

I think you have about 50 more lawns to go!

Superb bar Gary. Is the dagger attributed to Oberst Schmidt as well?

Have you tried asking Rick Lundstrom over at GMIC? If anyone could find your man it's him.

                  bizarre

very unusual three-fer LS medal combo.
Looks pristine and I'd love to look at it close up.
It makes you wonder what a retread WW1 NCO (or maybe Deputed Officer) from Brunswick was doing to make it to O5 in 1940-45.

                    Hi,

                    Thanks for the comments.

Scott, the dagger, unfortunately is unattributed. I just used it as a backdrop.

Dion, yes it was a very nice piece from you. I am glad I spotted that before it hit the e-stand/your site!

Simon, thanks I will try Rick to see what he can come up with.

                        Dion,

I will check with Rick. If anyone can locate the owner he can. I vaguely recall that it was too difficult to narrow down due to the name "Schmidt".
