Spanish Blue Division medals by Deschler & Sohn

Hello everyone,

I would like to hear your comments about this bunch of commemorative medals of the Spanish Blue Division medal by Deschler & Sohn as stated by Helmut Weitze last friday.

I´ve never seen originals in such perfect condition as they are. Normally they loose the gold finish. Also don´t look very detailed, maybe the quality of the photo and flash.

Look like the modern spanish replacements. I hope I´m wrong. Any idea?

hmmmmmmm................I think that most of the Deschler & Sohn medals has a marking in the ring, does it somewhere say if the are makermarked or not?

The color does not seem unusual to me considering that minty ones have a simular color. Not only that these appear to be zinc and I not sure but I believe that the replacement one's you're speaking of were not made of zinc. Also these could have come from the recent Deschler hoard.

I already asked, and the medals don´t have any maker mark at all.

When weitze first started selling the hoard I e-mailed him to find out what medals were found and he stated that spanish blue division medals were part of it.

I dont believe that they are reproductions,since their provinance is so good. If they are then the whole hoard is questionable.
