    Help in OST medal

    Hello Guys,

I bought this OST medal some weeks ago on e-stand and I'm not sure of it.

The ribbon is OK and don't glow under the black light.

But the medal has a thinner edge than the others I have seen.

    Thanks!!

    Best Regards,
    Fernanda

This doesn't mean a thing, the blacklight test has it's best days behind it...

The medals looks ok to me.

        Fernanda,
I don't see anything wrong with this medal. I've handled many of these and you will find that some are thinner than others.

While searching net I found a completed auction for one just like this, think it was 'gunbroker'. It was listed as having been checked with the opinion it was not authentic allthough there were bids and it sold. The helmet markings do look pretty strange to me.
I can't find the auction page again but I did download the pics of it, if you would like, PM and I will e-mail to you. Vaughan.

I'd steer well clear of that site Vaughan.

As with other medals and badges there were alot of different makers with slight variations sometimes, which will make them stand out as who made them or sometimes they remain unknown, for awhile . May have been a piece made later int the war and materials were cut back, there, a thinner medal.

I have a small pile of these and they will vary in thickness, nothing to worry about. Nice ost medal, my favorite war medal. Matt
