I am hoping that someone out there will be able to identify this award. My friend found the badge on location of cage from 1945-46. Its like close combat badge.

It's a late war infantry attack badge, 2nd class. Looks like original for me, but I'm not expert. (there are many fakes too, sadly) On of the series of this kind mybe-rounded-shild shape badges.
