    Nice Münster!

I have never seen them together on a ribbon bar like this but as part of other bars. I have 2 singles with attachments for the 1-oct on it's way to me. Nice variations.

The devices look original but why would there be 2 of 1st October ribbons on the same bar?

Actually, I agree with Al on this. This set-up doesn't make sense.,,,Tom

              Hello everyone:

I agree that the setup doesn't make sense. However, I'll try to make some sense out of it anyway.

Maybe the recipient, not having so many other awards to show off at the time, decided to maximize the bar display as much as possible by showing off everything. Or, one way or another, maybe it was just his personal choice to do it that way, especially since there may have been no regulations against it.

Also, since he first has the medals on the ribbons (with the first two), there is then no room to also put the highly-esteemed Prague spange on the same ribbon. His only choice then is to put the bar itself on a seperate ribbon. Again, that was his only choice, if he did also want to display the medals for each, as he did at the beginning of the bar.

Since others have also agree that the whole ribbon bar looks authentic, I'm just trying to think like someone who just wanted to do it that way, no matter how much others may say it makes no sense. Sometimes, the things that people do, still within the confines of written regulations, don't really make sense. This may just be an authentic example of one individual's quirky, yet original idea.

Besides, since the whole bar looks original, it also makes no sense that anyone else (even a knowledgeable collector or dealer) would spend as much time constructing something that won't make sense to many people.

Those are just my analytical thoughts on the bar, of course giving it as much benefit of the doubt and possibility as possible. I could have just agreed that it makes no sense, and left it with a huge amount of skepticism and doubt. However, I guess I'm just in more of a thinking mood today.

              Sincerely thoughtful,

              Chris

P.S. To be honest with you, I'm a little more defensive of this, mostly because it sounds like something I might do.

Dion, please share the reverse as well. From time to time, the reverse reveals more than the obverse.
If there's a metal backing and the ribbons are attached with metal tabs, I would examine those tabs closely. It's always possible someone made it up.

Looks like the chap (or the person making up the bar) thought that an award of the Sudetenland Medal, followed later by an award of the bar to the medal, entitled the man to wear 2 ribbons, i.e. one for the medal and one for the bar.

                  Maybe just an early mistake.

That's along the same lines I'm thinking.
