Hi guys thanks for the E-Bay link there appears to be a few differences between the two. Personally £65 pound is a little expensive for one in this condition fake or not, you can find them nicer and cheaper and would lean towards sending it back.A side view may help determine originality.All the best

I'm 50/50 on this one but I would return it for the following reasons. The pockmarks I've circled could be signs of casting or possiblr deterioration of the base metal. The medal has either a weak strike or excessive wear if it is a genuine piece. I think you need to have this piece in hand to be sure. For the price you paid you can easily find an early bronze example.Attached Filespseudo-expert

Thanks to the great photo comparison posted by Kenneth, it is quite clear that the medal in question is lacking loads of detail found on originals. This is particularly noticeable in the lettering, of course.
This thread is, in general, a great source for such fake vs. original comparison studies. I've bookmarked this one for future reference myself.
