    Medal Grouping..Need Opinions

    Hello,

I have the opportunity to purchase the following medal grouping and wanted to get an idea what would be a honest value of the german items (not including the American items).

The EK1 is maker marked "20"....so I'm being told.

    Thank you,

    Tom

    Hello Tom,
It all looks like good, original stuff. As far as values, I would say $30. for the Bronze Mother Cross, $250. for the C.F. Zimmermann EKI, $25. for the War Merit Cross with Swords, $10. for the small tinnie/pin, and $60. for the Silver Wound Badge.
    Best regards,
    Tom

If orinigal ribbons are included with the medals I would say the same prices only in Euros.

I have now acquired these items. Who is the maker of the wound badge? Looks like there is another mark on the pin catch??? The HJ pin is plastic, could it be real or is it junk?

Here are a few close-up pictures:

            Hello Tom,
The Wound Badge is made by Rudolf Wächtler & Lange of Mittweida/Sa. It is especially nice because it bears both the Lieferant number '100' (upside down, above the catch) as well as the LDO commercial license number 'L/55'. Both of these numbers correspond to Rudolf Wächtler. A great badge! Don't worry about the small tinnie/pin being made of plastic. Molded, styrene plastics were being used in Germany in the 1930s, by I.G. Farben.
            Nice pieces, all of them!
            Best regards,
            Tom

You might also want to look for a marking on the suspension ring of the War Merit Cross with Swords. Many of these early, solid bronze types were never marked, but some were. Use a 10x magnifyer and check both sides of the ring.
              Best regards,
              Tom

I especially like the wound badge. I have never seen one of those double marked W&L's before

OK. That one was made by Klein & Quenzer.
