All the references I have to date are like yours, the metal part dosen't smell like brass but over the months has tarnished to this dull effect. I don't even have it out on display, I was always worried about fading the box and ribbon.

Here's another picture, it seems to be rather thin !!!!!!!

Mine appears as on the others and those in books to be missing a diddle doddle what ever you call bit at the bottom also, protruding up out of the bottom of the wreath.

Boxes is all I will have left, empty until I can gain original awards!

Thats two Navy and a Luft I've had duffmoremad bugger!

Any one else got one of these beauties ?

Hi Marcus,
Regardless of whether it's good or bad, why keep it when that doubt will linger in the back of your mind as long as you own it. I'll go on record here with my thought - the "diddle doddle" should always be there on originals. I have not seen an original where this area was void of the "diddle". I say get your money back on this one. This one resides in my collection:
