Just to clarify, I dont like the Memel at all, it looks like a copy of the second pattern. I was just trying to avoid the usual 2 types figh...err discussions.

as already said, i dont think a faithful service cross should be there, not impossible, but unlikely. if a wehrmacht long service medal was there, and it can only be the four year, there should be small holes in the ribbon where the metal eagle has been!!

I would have to agree with AL P that one of the SS long service medals belong on the bar. The 25year one is a joke on this bar.

Looks like a strip job and then a put back together with other odds and sods.

Hi guys,

Without a doubt, the obvious signs of casting indicate that this Memel Medal is a fake. I also believe that the Austrian Annexation Medal on this bar is fake as well. If you look at the picture below, the yellow arrows indicate where part of the casting seam is still evident on the Austrian Annexation Medal. The surface of the medal also displays the same signs of casting as the Memel Medal.

The presence of the 25-Year Faithful Service Decoration indicates a guy that is, at the very least, 43 years old by 1938-1939. Very unusual with no World War I service.

In my opinion, this is a postwar put-together medal bar using a mixture of original and fake medals, ribbons, mounting components, etc. The style is very typical of the flood of fake medal bars being found on the market today. The inconsistent aging amongst the medals and ribbons is a very big "red flag." In my opinion, this is by no means an original medal bar that just had a few medals switched out.
