    West Wall o Co. help

    Hello!

Just bought this "west wall set", and so far Im very pleased, but I just wanted to hear the experts say their thing!
So, is it OK? I think that the envelope seems very "mint" and the ribbon aswell, maybe repros? Anyway, please tell me what you think!!

    Thanks a lot!

    Regards
    Izhak

A common award, these combo's are available on most dealer sites. Generally they are good.

I'm sure it's fine, as Jonathan said, a very common award.

I remember a few years back buying like 20 of these from Detlev I think for around $10 a piece, you couldn't give 'em away!
      Regards,
      Chris

Always interested in buying Ribbon Bars or anything Ribbon Bar related!!

        Okey, thanks for the help!!
This is my first one, and I really like it, think it looks very cool and all, but I dont really understand what you had to do to earn it..
It seems like you could either build or serve on the atlantic/"siegfried line" to get this medal, is that correct? Cant find much info about it...
Damn I want 20 of these too!!
        Anyways, thanks again!

was awarded to all who took part in the planning, construction or defence of German fortifications. Minimum time for construction workers was 10 weeks, 3 weeks for military personnel. Initially introduced in August 1939 for the Siefried line, it was reinstituted on 10th October 1944 (source For Fuhrer and Fatherland, J.Angolia)

            Oh I see!
Maybe not an honor award exactly then, but I like it! Thanks for the info!

I just got a nice one too, and the ribbon glows in UV-light, probably post war I guess. Check yours, there's a lot of those post-war ribbons for this medal around I have read.

                  Check this thread: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=238171

Hm, yeah it might be..gotta take a look at it later. If its true what someone had said, that they found like 30,000 of these medals without ribbon then I guess the chanses are very small to get a good one
