We will need more pics to say, but the medal looks a good one.
The maker seens to be Petz & Lorenz.
The ribbon look like a changed repro.

But it will be nice if we get more pics.

Other photos unfortunately are not present, has increased some fragments of a medal from those a photo which were.
          Thanks!

Not sure it´s a Petz & Lorenz...look at the acorns...not the same as the ones in the thread:
                  http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=233364

The bottom of the acorns looks like small dots in the two other SS4.

More similar to a Deschler except the smaller ring!!?

                  Just some thoughts!

                  Think it´s good!

                  /peter -excuse my english!

                      I'm not so sure

                      Hello,

When I compare this one to my Deschler I notice a couple differences.

                      http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=190023

The jump ring on a Deschler is smaller and well bevelled. This one does not appear to match. Also, the jump ring on the one you show is offset from dead centre. I guess that could happen but it would surprise me that it would be off that much on a medal that was being awarded to a very select few who were held in high regard in their time. Early medals were known for their quality I believe.

The jump ring does not match well to a P&L either.

So, if it's not a match to either then what is it? A reproduction or just one a little less text book. I don't know but would wait for other comments.

                      Regards,
                      Stu

I would not buy it personally from those photos.
The tops of the leaves are to round, the ss looks almost stepped and some of the lettering does not look quite right.
It is definitely trying to be a deschler, if it is or not I would have to many doubts.
                        Regards
                        Steve

Yep Stu's is a deschler, compare the two, big differences I think.
The more I look at this one for sale the less I like it.
Unless one of the big guns say's otherwise I would not buy it.
                          Regards
                          Steve

                            Guys, many thanks!
This medal is similar here to this http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=197426

You have warned me against rash purchase.
I shall search for a medal on which there will be no doubts.
Excuse for my English, I write through the electronic translator.
                            Victor.

Very good, with the new pics i could see some small diferences from other original ones. It looks like a fake - nicely done - but fake.
