Originally all officially issued badges were numbered but not private purchased badges. But numbering was discontinued during the war years.
Ursprünglich wurden alle offiziell herausgegebenen Abzeichen aber nicht private gekaufte Abzeichen numeriert. Aber Numerierung wurde während der Kriegsjahre eingestellt.

Looks like a nice gold example to me, with good ageing to add. But still a nice looking badge.

            Well done mate..

              SA Sports Badges

              Greetings Guys!

I really don't know much about the markings on these badges i.e. short versus tall lettering. I do know this: I just got a grouping of five badges indirectly from a vet so the provenance is pretty good. There are two gold badges with the taller, skinny letters and one silver badge with the shorter, fatter letters. I also received a gold badge marked FECHLER EIGENTUM d. S.A. SPORTABZEICHEN HAUPTSTELLE BERNSBACH/SA. There was also a SA War Wounded marked RZM M1/100 as well as a couple of SA sports armbands, a party armband, a small flag, a real SA reserve armband, a SS buckle, some luftwaffe eagles, a LW short range day fighter clasp, some tinnies, a fire police sleeve eagle for Buttgen and Berchtesgaden, som partyy pins, infantry assault in silver, two Spanish Crosses with swords in silver and some other odds and ends.

              Best regards,
              Bill
