This question may sound stupid, but what do you think about this SA Sports Badge made by "W. Redo"? Is it bronze or gold? Did Redo made bronze badges with such a shiny bronze plating or is it a slightly darkened gold badge? The badge is made from iron.

Not a stupid question at all, these badges are often a bitch to tell apart, especially in a photo, what with flash and all. I would say yours looks bronze in very fine condition to me, but maybe I am missing something. I think if you posted a smaller photo, it would be a little easier to decide.
My concern are the marks on this one. Has there been any closure to the discussion of "tall letters" vs "stout letters" in Redo marks? I am still under the impression that genuine Redo badges were marked in tall thin letters. Where is Frank when you need him?

Thanks! I am pretty sure that this badge is genuine. Here are smaller pics. Btw. this badge is scanned and not photographed with a flash.Attached Files

By the difference between obverse and reverse, yours might actually be gold. Oh, I give up. Look at this old thread of the two side by side, judge by yourself.

It looks good to me too, but I remember Frank being quite adamant about Redo badges marked in thin high letters. Here is an old thread I found, take a look at Frank's post:
