The crest or traditions badge of the U-9 is the 1914 Iron Cross. This is to commemorate the sinking of three British cruisers in one day by KL Otto Weddigen in September 1914.

A very famous U-boat and was commissioned in 1935 and sunk off the coast of Rumania in teh Black Sea in 1944. the boat had 12 commanders including Wolfgang Luth in 1940. The Tradition badge was as follows. It is featured in EMBLEME WAPPEN MALINGS by George Hogel. I think the silver pin is a souvenir pin (sweetheart pin) rather than a cap badge. Just my opinion, but a desirable item indeed.
