    57 Pattern Ribbon Bar

    Hi,

I've seen this ribbon bar on an auction site, I have no experience with these. Are they faked? This is the only picture posted and it is sold as is. The price at the moment is £4.

    Cheers
    Phil

Good price for what it is ( awards probably to a Gebirgsjägerveteran).

I do not think the 57 pattern ribbon bars are 'faked'. Have not seen one yet. Rick? Daniel? Your opinions?

      Yup. Looks fine to me.

I'm sure the more "exotic" stuff may get faked-- everything worth anything is being faked by lowlifes somewhere, but these early Bundeswehr bars don't seem to be... yet.

BTW, the ones I have and have seen do NOT fluoresce under blacklight either.

Thanks guy's, I'll try to get it if the dam auction site will let me join moremad dam technology. I didn't think 57 stuff was being faked.

        Cheers

dont be so sure guys. I have seen quite a few 57 versions that must have belonged to some hellacious war heros if real. I am sure that there are some real ones heavily laden with sheilds, badges, all the iron crosses, etc. but it seems every one lately is above and beyond the regular call of duty. This has to be the 4th or 5th KRETA one I have seen in half a year.

I could be wrong though..best advice is just to stay on your toes.

Accidentally offending people on the internet since 1997

yup, nice one. I have no problem with it.

In the point of faking this bars I agree with Rick. Everything what brings money is faked. Take care for possible and sense-making combos, then You are on the right side. Fakers know mostly about money but not about the stuff they are producing.

            Best regards

I've also seen the cuff title devices in a "triangle" shape, like the entire loose metal cuffband was "draped" on the ribbon.

Alas, my knowledge of these runs out with 1945.

Here is my only example: matches yours for pin construction and backing. this came with the single below, for the Spanish 1936-39 Campaign Medal-- which I didn't think was allowed for wear 1957+!?

Backs. Ones I assume are later are on a "slide back" rather like U.S. ribbon bars, various types, with pins.

                      Hi Rick,

the GERMAN Spanish Cross was banned, but the SPANISH decorations for the war were FOREIGN and so allowed in 1957.

                      Best regards

what is the 1st device in the 2nd row? Isn't it strange that a SHIELD badge should come before the Ostmedaille? And it seems they REALLY didn't like the KVK2X!!!

Still, nice to see he went from firing up tanks... to putting out fires!

Looks like a General Assault Badge there in first place, second row.
