    Hello guys!

What do you think about this "Stalingrad" ribbon bar to the Romanian anti communist medal? Have you seen one like this before?

There are about 15 bars for this ribbon and Stalingrad is of course the rarest.

I have only seen one before on a ribbon with the medal and two other bars. Never seen it on a ribbon bar of that size or any other bar for that matter.

Since it is the rarest I would take any of these with a grain of salt until you can get some-one to ok it for you.

I would place it on the interantional forum there are a few .ro collectotrs there.

        hmmm

Unusual but not impossible. the bars were made by Souval after the war and of this turn over type. I also have never seen a bar on a ribbon bar-especially an unmounted ribbon bar, but it's possible.
This might well be a legitimate 1957 ribbon too.

To jump start this thread again... "Bug" Bar

Thought I would try to get this discussion going again. I picked this one up a while back. It is the standard medal with the box. In addition, this one came with a campaing bar on a seperate ribbon bar.

First the standard medal... this example has two silver wire threads making up part of the white edge stripes. None of my other "Crusades" have this detail. Comments

Next the ribbon bar... The ribbon is about 5mm wider than the standard medal ribbon. Further, the edge stripes are comprised entirely of silver wire thread. The "BUG" campaign bar is of a prong back variety, not the Souval fold over style.

                      This is an interesting thread.

Here are two examples from my collection:

the Crimeia bar and the Marea neagra (Black Sea) bar

There were a number of campaign bars for this award:

                      - Azov

                      - Basarabia

                      - Bucovina

                      - Bug

                      - Caucaz

                      - Calmucia

                      - Crimea

                      - Dnjestr

                      - Dobrogea

                      - Donet

                      - Kalmucia

                      - Marea Neagra

                      - Nipru

                      - Nistru

                      - Odessa

                      - Prut

                      - Stalingrad

...perhaps even more? It would be nice to see some photos.

                      Erich
