I can see where you are coming from, it does look very like the type 2 verison shown in this thread,

however having said that the tank does look a little large for an original which is perhaps what promted Jeffs response.

the're many variants and differences on these TDB's. And this one here has some characteristics, i would like to see on a good one.....

Dejay did a good job on the comparison thread, but there're still variants out there..... i just made the experience with a fellow collector who brought 2 TDB to a show a few weeks ago- one was (minor) variant which i hadn't seen before and i thought i had seen and handled all variants......

maybe it isn't a copy- but from these pics impossible to tell for me - but my gut tells me that there's hope....

Yes. I do believe the tank is too large for a Type 2 or 2a. Maybe a different variant, but also maybe a copy. best wishes,
