Hello Jaime,
Thanks a lot I will go tomorrow to St Petersburgo, Leningrado , to work and visit the sites where the Blue Division fight, I put some photos when I came back from Rusia.
Very nice collection. I have also some items of the "Division Azul",in my collection.
I want also to point out that the Spanish Blue Division was not only formed by spanish, but also there was also about 300 Portuguese volunteers, (Green Legion) that fought alongside the Spanish Soldiers in Russia.
Hi Ciano, i never knew about the Portuguese soldiers (i am new to collecting blue division), that is very interesting. I guess that they had the same uniforms & insignia as the Spanish soldiers? Is there anything to collect that was different like awards documents?
Ant.
Yes, long time ago I remember to see in a magazine an interview with a former Portuguese Soldier that fought in the Spanish Blue Division.
There was a photo of him, and he had the standard normal German Uniform, so like the Spanish.
Of course they didn´t wear the Spanish Shield in their arm.
Most of these Anti-Communist fighters were soldiers that fought in the Spanish Civil War with the Franco troops.
During the Spanish Civil war the Portuguese had a volunteer brigade called "Viriatos", and as I said they were with the Nationalits troops.
