SS Four Year Service Medal - Opinion

Hi

I have this SS medal on approval and I cannot make my mind up about it.

It has some positives such as the hatching on the acorns, but the stippling is not pronounced as on my P&L 4 yr and that is probably what is disturbing me the most.

It is either an original Deschler, or a Deschler reproduction.

Measures 38mm diameter

Anyway, here are some scans. I have had to blow up areas on the back to show the stippling (which does go to the edge)

Any opinions would be warmly welcomed

It seems ok to me do you have the dimesions on this it should be 38mm or maybe 38.5mm diameter. I like the cross grain in the last pic as well

It looks fine to me.

How do we know it's a Deschler?

Yes, it is 38mm which is a good sign as the fakes tend to be around 37.5mm

From looking at the images and the P&L one I have, the P&L made service medal has a more pronounced thumbprint grain and in my own opinion, are little easier to spot a good one from a bad.
