    MM cross-reference question.

    Newbie question...

    When a manufacturer was assigned either a regular issue number or an LDO number would they use it on all types of badges and awards they made?

    Reason I ask is I have two BWB. One is marked 4, the other L/21. I am trying to catalogue my modest collection and realized I didn't know who actually made these. I don't want to keep asking others to identify my items every time I obtain something new so I need to be pointed in the right direction here. Does the list of known manufactures of EKI and EKII that I find on this site apply to other awards? Would a 6 on a wound badge mean it was made by F. Zimmermann just as it would on an EK?

    Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Hi Stu,

    Here's a good link on the main "Wehrmacht-Awards.com" website that should answer your questions. It explains the differences between LdO and Prasidialkanzlei numbers;

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/reserach_tools/ldo.htm

    The only error is the common transposition of L/22 and L/58 - L/58 is KNOWN to have been used by Souval from wartime advertisments.

    Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

    If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!
