Six Medal Bar WW1 Vet & Luftschutz

Here is a nice bar for someone who served in the First World War and then in the Luftschutz to earn an additional award.

      6 place medal bar

      Hello,

That is a very nice medal bar of a brave WWI soldier who apparantly did his duty with the Luftschutz during WWII.

I also like the 5 th medal, seems like some sort of long service medal for work in the industry. Is there any mention of what German state it is or could we get a larger scan of that one?

Very nice + thanks for showing.

        hmmmm

        Have you blacklighted this?

The really nice medal of course is #2, the Reuss service medal with swords. there weren't many of those given out in WW1.

The KVM is very unusual on a medal bar, but not unheard of-especially in the older "trapazoid" style occasionally used by older veterans.

Still, any medal bar that is flat and trapazoid after 1939 gives me pause and merits a triple look, although I think you're possibly ok here.

Another unusual issue is the Luftschutz medal, which fakers love to use-usually wrongly, because there were so many single issues made-or so many unawarded. But I have a Luftschutz passbook to a man who had all of these awards-except for the unofficial state labour medal (which would not have been mentioned in the passbook anyway).

          McCulloh and Stijn David,

Thanks for the replies and observations.

This bar does not glow under the black light.

Here are the close ups of medal #5.

neat industrial medal, I think it's Wartsburg castle in gera near the Czech border. One of the german guys will know. I'd bet this belonged to a 50-something Luftschutz guy. Nice bar.

                medal bar

                Hello,

Thank you for the close up of the industrial medal, very nice medal.

That is indeed the Wartburg as present on that medal, and the person who apparently did design that medal is K.Goetz. Very nice.

Those are medals that are underestimated but very fun for sure !!! I do wonder how much time one had to work to get that one => probably 25 years?

                Cordial greetings,
