    Faithful Service Decoration

Just a very quick question. From what material were the Faithful Service Decorations made off? In this case I’m talking about the 2nd Class for 25 years.

    Thanks,
    Pascal

    Dear Pascal,

That should be silver plated Tombak.

Thanks Frank. So Tombak the same as Buntmetall?

Yes, Tombak belongs into the wide group of "Buntmetalls".

                Very nice indeed .
I think they are great looking as well.

The mean reason for asking of a Faithful Service Decoration was made out of tombak is that I have one of these medals and I think it is very hard to see the difference between all the different metals which were used for making medals.
I don’t think I’m the only one who think it’s difficult to spot, so maybe an idea for an article?

Thanks you John and George for showing us those nice medals.

                Regards,
                Pascal

Hi George, two of mine are by Deschler & Sohn and the 25 by Franz Reischauer, I notice that your 25 is by another maker, who Is It? Rather a smart sticker for this series..
                  Warmest Regards ... John
