It's nice to see this thead coming back to life again
@Dietrich, I haven't ruled out the numbered badges, but I need to examine a few before I can make up my mind.
When I saw the thread with the Halbgrosse LW awards, my first impression was favourable, although the general consensus appeared to be the opposite. Same goes with these, I need to see them in the flesh.
In regards of the EK, I'm gonna have to put you on hold for a while . There are still some things I need to figure out. Same goes for the DAO.
@Gary, when talking about TR miniatures without pin attachment, there are a couple of possibilities. As far as I know, they were never worn similar to i.g British, i.e. ribbon-mounted on a bar. Nor have I ever seen a single mini being worn on a ribbon with pin for attachment i.e with a safety pin .Normally they were found on lapel chains without ribbons or on a lapel button with the ribbon rosette mounted horizontally. What's interesting to note is that decorations that came with ribbons in there normal size, also can be found as stickpins and that pin-backed badges can be found as miniatures for wear on chain.
@Willy, I'm an idiot when it comes to computers, Gerd thanks for helping out

Peter,
take your time with your opinion. Regarding the Halbminiaturen I can only say that you would be 100% convinced they are real if you would have them in your hand. You know that Halbminiaturen are a fact and that they have been legally produced - howeve, they are rare.
As a side note, Patzwall, who I really know as a straight forward and unbiased researcher, shows the numbered badges in his 1992 priceguide as real. A lot of Minis he dismissed as phantasie (correctly so) and also as an answer to the (sometimes ridiculous) book from Messing.
