Memel Memel Commemorative Medal

Hello,
I still miss in my collection, from the occupation medals, the Memel Commemorative Medal . I know , that there are only about 30.000 awarded.

Do you see these type for sale, or are they just too rare?
What would be the value of such a medal?

I know that their value , compared to the numbers that were made, is low. From the March 1938 medal there are only 300.000 produced, and still their value is only about 40 Euro

Yes, these do come up for sale, here or on dealer's sites (Detlev had one not so long ago I think). Value is about GBP100 I guess although I may be wrong so do not all scream at me . There has been quite a debate about these in this forum so I suggest you do a search and try to make up your mind about the correct shape of the "m" and the "G". Good luck.

They are for sale alright but as Terry says - do a search first on the forum for them so you know what you are looking at! You will quickly see that there is an 'established' one with the crooked 'G' etc, a more common one which is not quite so accepted and a even a third type which has recently surfaced. Terry's price estimate is bang on.
