Honor Cross Assman?

I'll stick my head out and question the cross posted by Eric. If any HC has been faked, this must be it. The maker's mark appears to be hand made and the metal looks fishy. Furthermore, why would Assman use a suspension ring, quite different from the one normally seen on these crosses?

It does, doesn't it. After searching for the Assman MM here it's not very like most of the others.

That's prolly cuz I messed with the contrast and whatnot in Photoshop to make the marks more visible. See the preceeding and attached images for non-messed with images.

It's hard to see in the images, from the corossion and the poor scans but the suspension is standard.
