Sorry but IMO that badge is junk. Very soft on the back. Such an early badge wouldn't have an RZM. Send it back!

from what I understand there were two types. Early unmarked examples and the later 2nd type was RZM marked behind the swaz., with a small rzm mark and centered in -line with the pin.

The reverse is wrong. I believe it to be a cast from the first type. The RZM is a little different.

I agree. This is a cast reproduction. No chance of this one being real.
                      Best regards! Tom

My Coburg Badge is from Wolfe-Hardin. Purchased 3 years ago in Louisville. It is RZM marked to the left of the catch on the reverse. Steve told me then to look at the buildings and sword handle for obvious details that repros don't have. Looking at mine, the notch in the handle is missing on yours. The peaked building to the far right is too rounded. There is also a lack of fine detail in the other buildings as I compare yours with mine. Otherwise, it looks OK. I would be very suspicious of it myself unless you bought it from a very legitimate source with a lifetime buyback. They sell now for $3500+.

Chuck would you mind either posting detailed photos here or sending them to me via e-mail if you prefer? YOu can PM me if you like and I will send you my e-mail.

                            Cheers
