    Stalingrad Pin??

    Hi
I have come across one of these stickpins for sale and would like to know if they are period pieces or pure fantasy. Done a forum search and only came up with the following post which did not get an answer:
    http://www.wehrmacht-awards.net/foru...stalingrad+pin
Has anyone any knowledge of these
    thanks in advance

Hi Andy like England winning the world cup and me scoring the deciding goal with a 40 yarder, just pure fantasy. All the best

was is it that makes these fakes?
                Regards

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

                  Pin

Its not pure fantasy. Original ones where for shoulder boards

The pin I can not say anything for sure. But my guess would be that this pin is not original. But try doing some research under the name Stalingrad cross...

Don't be too sad if you have one of these.

I was in Germany at a fair recently where one of the dealers had one of these pins. Suddenly a guy he seemed to have met before came along and they chatted a bit about RAD badges. Then the guy took the Stalingrad pin, both said something like "it is coming straight out of Poland" (the German term for "it is fake" ) and laughed. But surprisingly the guy still bought the pin for almost EUR 100 - which seemed quite a hefty price to me.
I take it he just liked the item for what it is and personally I also find it quite pretty.
If you get one for a few (!) bucks - why not!?

"Kaum gestohlen, schon in Polen ... " jaja

Thanks for sharing this info - interesting!

I will keep it - it would be ridiculos to let it go for what I 'bought' it ... really!

And by the way - yes, it still is a very nice pin!
