    John beat me to it, indeed odd and very nice and different to see the Czech medal box with that liner in the lid, normaly of course it's white.

    Nice finds and all three look genuine to me.

      At Rathau on the Aller, the CO of 5th Royal Tanks advanced on foot to take a cautious look into the town before his tanks moved in. He encountered one of his own officers, a huge Welshman named John Gwilliam who later captained his country's rugby team, 'carrying a small German soldier by the scruff of his neck, not unlike a cat with a mouse.' The Colonel said: 'Why not shoot him?' Gwilliam replied in his mighty Welsh voice: 'Oh no, sir. Much too small.'

        Not only is is a first 'one off' I've seen, I'd like a pic for the book please on packets and boxes I'm colllateing if possible please.

          1st Oktober Case

          Just an update guys, I furnished Marcus with some higher quality pics and he has confirmed my suspicions that the 1st Okt case did not leave the factory in its current configuration. It appears that the lid liner has been added at a later date. It is however a period liner just not original to this case.

          My thanks to Marcus for nailing this one down.

              From David being my 'hands on' and eyes, he noted the unfaded area where a sticker of sorts had been.

              It can only be one lining then thats been placed in here, a 25 Year Faithful Service lid liner.
