Hello Wolffen,
If your are referring to the Germanic Proficiency Badge with the SS runes, that will be easy because their are less than a dozen pieces known to exist and less than 200 were awarded. I guess that it is possible that you might come across one, not likely but possible. It would be like hitting the lottery, that is just an illustration of my point. The badge did come in two varients Gold and Bronze. I would think the price point would be close to or more than $4,000.00. I know that Foreman's 2000 has the Gold grade list for $2,500.00, but I think that is under priced IMO.
In reference to the piece itself it measures 46mm across and is convex. The sun wheel is cast copper plated zinc with an olive bronze wash and the runes are black enamel die-struck from tomback. This description came from Robin Lumsden's book "Detecting the fakes."
I guess you will get more input once some of the pros catch your thread. I hope that this has helped.
Cordially yours,

Two of the Hamburg dealers have sold one each in the last year, one for $2200.00 and the other around $1000 less. I can't remember the price exactly on the last one but it was about £860.00 GB Pounds when I converted it at the time. Both in about the same condition.
It's rare for sure but not quite as rare as the 200 quoted in the last post.
The Profüngsbuchs/Leistungsbuch's for the award are numbered and the highest one I've seen is in the 800's for Bronze and 200's for silver. The award certificates are numbered B860, ie Bronze 860 and for a silver is S200 for example. So we know there are over 800 bronzes and if the numbers are separate for silver as I suspect they are , then we can assume there are over 1000 awarded. So I say 1000 is closer to the mark than the often mentioned 200, but still rare.
Have a search in the archives as there are some previous posts, some with pictures.

Hello guys,
I stand corrected as Steve points out, the award was Silver and Bronze, no Gold varient.
Steve, therefore Lumsden's book incorrect in that less than 200 were issued?, a 1000 is closer to the mark. Boy, that is some spread.
Detlev's catalog has the Silver listed at $5,000.00DM and the Bronze at $3,500.00DM, even figuiring 50% of that price point, that is still outside the price points you have given. I guess the bigger question is the number you feel are in circulation, as I said earlier that is way off Lumsdens mark, but I am open minded to a certain degree. Where are you getting your reference information from on the amount in circluation?
Cordially yours,
