    Sloppy medal bar

    Hi
I just got this one. The medals I am OK with. The East medal is marked 7 and the cross 14. However, I am of the opinion that the bar is wrong. The ribbons look sloppy and the wear does not appear consistent with the medals. Before I make a fool of myself and return this I would appreciate your comments. The ribbons do not glow.
    thanks

The ribbon bar does look messed with, and the ribbons are out of order too.

The order is not correct. The KVK should be before the East medal, and the 2 KVK combo on this makes me wonder as well. I agree it is not made to any quality standards, and looks like it was slapped together with some common medals to increase the sale $$$$$

These square type ribbon bars are easiest to fake also-and I personally have NEVER seen a sqare TR medal bar in contemp. photos.

On top of the other quite valid points, look at the extra ribbon protruding on the sides of the bar. That would have likely become quite a bit more worn and frayed over time, if it had been there for 60+ years.

It really does look like a post war put-together to me.

I'm afraid any value would be in the medals themselves only & not as a medal bar.

                Andy,

Do not worry about what the person thinks that you send something back to. If you are not happy with the item, that is what matters. I do not think anyone looks foolish if he returns something he does not like or thinks is messed with, he is foolish for keeping something he does not really want.

                  ribbon bar

I would think this is a pieces/parts ribbon bar that was put togeather with good medals and ribbon.
                  good luck

I have no doubt that this is made from original parts, but that makes it just what the name implies a "parts bar".

And Dave's 100% right, if you have any doubts at all & won't feel comfortable having it in your collection, by all means return it!.

The bottom line is who cares what the seller thinks, if he's any kind of respectable dealer/seller, customer satisfaction should be #1.
                    Regards,
                    Chris

                      Thanks

Thanks to all who replied. The medal bar is on its way back for a refund. I pointed the seller towards this link and they agreed without problem. So a big thanks to all. As you can tell, I know very little about bar construction and would appreciate your opinions on the attached bar. The East medal is marked 65.
                      Thanks
