Look what the Post Girl brought to my door yesterday...
My ribbon bar doesn't look quite so lonely now.

The lighter blue thread is actually part of the ribbon which has discoloured from the frosting...

It is difficult to get a decent picture of the reverse.

Still has some frosting to the top half of reverse & there is some blue staining from constant contact with the ribbon...

Nice medal. Thats the one that was going around that came from Jamie cross a few years back with his COA,correct? I had considered buying it but did not get rave reviews when I showed it around.Has it been possible for you to see the jump ring?

I am unable to see the suspension ring, as the everything is very tight, but it feels like it could be a teardrop one.
The eyelet is very difficult to see too, but it is nicely bevelled.

That is definitely the same medal on your link to the other forum...Cheers for that Jon. I also noticed, on an older thread on that forum, what appears to be the same medal again which has been posted by Gordon Williamson as an example of an original.

The ribbon looks much newer and in better condition than the medal. Probably a replacement.

                              Thanks for the comments everyone.

As for the ribbon, when viewed first hand, it shows nice age toning & soiling, with oxidation to the bullion & nice 'settling in' of the medal with the ribbon, indicative of the two having been together for a very long time.
