Hi, once again I was in the flea market and look what I found. I have a question about the Luftwaffe ribbon bar, shouldn´t the long service medal be before the Afrika medal?

I'm no expert, but I've seen long service ribbons before and after campaign ribbons. I'm sure the was a rule to follow, but it seems few bar manufactures followed it.

All long service should be before campaign awards EXCEPT for the East medal.

Hola Adolpho!

At first guess, I'd say that somebody may have disassembled the bar and then put it back together in the wrong order. From the photo it appears to be one of the modular type that can be easily taken apart. Assuming the bar is original that means there have been 60+ years that people could have tinkered around with it. Boys are rather notorious for taking things apart to see how they work and I'm betting that is what happened with this bar. It should be a simple process to fix it - just be careful with the prongs because they can fatigue and break very easily.

If they took it apart there will likely be tell tale signs like scratches around the prongs. If you dont see any evidence of molestation, I would leave as is.
