Hello,

Looks like a very nice example of a type 2 SS 8-Year Medal. I have a feeling that the brooch-mounted long service ribbon is from either a Police 8-Year Medal, RAD 4-Year Medal or the like since SS medals were not brooch-mounted in this manner.

Lovely original medal. Same thoughts on the ribbon as Tom. It could be the very common civil Faithful Service medal ribbon and broach.

Very nice medal. Dont worry about the ribbon. You offen see them like this and I have a simular 4 year. If replaced ribbon or not? who knows for sure??? its a minor detail, I would be happy with it.
