Eastern Front medal MM3 for your opinion

Hello Collectors,

I have picked up this easter front medal (MM3 in ring) in a larger collection. I am not to sure about it,because there seem to be a casting pit (or damage?) on the back.
I hope to get some more opinions on it.

Its always hard to say in cases like these when one does not have it hand.
Zinc is bitch also. The various quality, storage ect.. all have impact on the zinc so it can be in so many "forms".

There are examples of Ostmedaillen then look much better than this one and are indeed cast, also examples that look far worse that are original.

For me this is an original OM that suffered from "Weissrost" and has been polished/heavily cleaned, especially on the reverse. But its not one I would put in my collection, but others might ofc.
